Alejandra L. Velasco
May 4th, 1925 - March 3rd, 2025
With love and sadness, we announce the passing of Alejandra L. Velasco on March 3, 2025, at the age of 99. She lived a long, beautiful life filled with love, resilience and devotion to her family.
Alejandra was married to her beloved husband Baldemar Velasco for 56 years, building a life filled with love and cherished memories. She valued work and was dedicated to her career with Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) for 40 years., spending much of that time at Palo Verde High School Cafeteria, where she made lifelong friendships and touched many lives.
She had a passion for crafting, quilting and sewing and loved her time in her sewing club. She also valued staying active throughout her life.
Later in life, Baldemar and Alejandra traveled together, visiting many places, but Hawaii was always her favorite. She cherished the beauty and peacefulness of the islands and spoke fondly of their time there.
To her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was their beloved Nana-a name filled with warmth and love.
She is survived by her children Sandie (Lauro), Victor (Patti), Rebecca, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Baldemar Velasco, her beloved son Albert and her siblings Maria, Trinidad, Modesto, and Antonio, along with her best friend Boots Rivera-all happily reunited.
Alejandra's love and spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
Rest in peace Nana. You are deeply missed and forever cherished.
