Beverly Gayle Newton
August 20th, 1947 - March 23rd, 2025
Beverly Gayle (Lynton) Newton, age 77, of Meridian, Idaho, passed away March 23, 2025, in her home after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Beverly Newton was born on August 20, 1947, in Walla Walla, Washington. She attended Walla Wall public schools during childhood before moving to Boise, where she graduated from Borah High School. She was married to her husband Roger Newton for over 20 years, during which she lived in Swan Falls, Idaho and then Grandview, Idaho, where she raised two children and worked at the local library as a librarian. She later moved back to Boise where she acquired employment at Micron Technology and quickly gained notoriety as the “etching queen” much to her colleagues’, as well as her own, surprise and amazement. During that time, Beverly also toon classes at Boise State University, which aided her in becoming a medical transcriptionist for Saltzer Medical Clinic, now Saltzer Health. She remained employed at Saltzer until she retired in 2012.
Throughout her life, Beverly thoroughly enjoyed the company of her feline companions, one of whom, Charlotte, now rests with her for all eternity. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed tending to her garden, as well as inquiring and discussing the greatest mysteries of the world and the universe with her family and friends.
Beverly Newton is survived by her two children, Gina Elizabeth (Newton) Freeman and Michael Anthony Newton; two grandchildren, Maykayla Elizabeth Newton and Jacob Matthew Margrave; and two great grandchildren, Emily Elizabeth McIntyre and Rylann Lee Newton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martha Ann Lynton and Gerald Frances Lynton; and her brother Gerald Leroy Lynton.

A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
