“Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.”
Richard Victor Taylor, age 74, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025. Born on November 8, 1950 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Richard George Taylor and Doris Ailene Sease. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his aunt, Vivian Taylor Warren and his grandparents, Carlos Ballentine Sease and Susannah Ailene Derrick Sease, Carlton William Taylor, Bertha Mae Hallman Taylor Rawl and James Henry Rawl.

Richard attended AC Flora High School Class of 1969 and graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1973 with a business degree in Marketing. He worked in his father’s business, Richard’s French Cleaners, while in high school and then took over the business in 1973 until his retirement 40 years later. He loved traveling, weekly Trivia nights, working on cars, and long afternoons fishing and boating at his family’s Sunset Point lake house on Lake Murray. He was an avid USC Gamecock sports fan. He enjoyed attending football and basketball games, and discussing sports with his friends and customers. Richard especially loved watching action movies with his son and watching USC Women’s Basketball games with his daughter.
Richard will be cremated by the SC Cremation Society.
In lieu of a Memorial Service, Richard wanted to share this thought, “Love and cherish your family, for life is too short.”
