Memorial

Chris Ann Decker entered into rest on March 22, 2025, in the presence of her husband, daughters, son-in-laws, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews.  She will be dearly missed, and it is with many broken hearts, we share memories of her life.

Born October 28, 1958, in Denver, Colorado, to Chuck and Denise Wing, she had an active and exciting childhood.  She enjoyed taking trips up to the cabin, boating, skiing, camping and playing softball.

She was one of six siblings—three girls and three boys.  Her brothers were often the perfect targets for her playful pranks, but no matter what, they always looked out for one another. Her two sisters, meanwhile, were more than just family; they were her best friends.

Chris met her husband, Kevin, in August of 1980 at her sister’s wedding and soon the pair became inseparable. What began as a chance encounter quickly grew into a love so deep, as if fate had brought them together at exactly the right moment. They were married July 23, 1983, and raised their 3 daughters in Arvada, Colorado. Chris was happiest when they were together doing the things they loved most; anything outdoors! Though their time together was far too brief, the love they shared will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to witness it.

Chris was more than just a mother to her three daughters—she was their best friend, and their greatest source of love and support. She filled their lives with warmth, wisdom, and always knew the right words to say or the perfect hug to give. Whether it was lengthy talks, shared laughter over inside jokes, or simply being there through life’s ups and downs, she created a bond with her daughters that was unbreakable. She taught them strength, grace, and the true meaning of unconditional love.

One of Chris’ greatest joys in life was spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Howie, as the grandkids called her, enjoyed making their favorite treats, telling stories from the past about their parents from when they were younger, and snuggling them close. Every moment with her was filled with love and she would always say, “Come to Howie. I will save you!” She had a way of making each grandchild feel special, always ready with a comforting hug, wise advice, or a playful joke. From cheering them on at their games to teaching them life’s little lessons, she created memories that will be cherished forever.

Her love was a constant, and though she is no longer here, the bond she shared with her entire family will live on in their hearts always.

Chris is preceded in death by her father and mother, Chuck and Denise Wing.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kevin Decker; her children, Nicole and Mark Murphy, Brianna Decker, Kayla and Dustin Roman; and her grandchildren, Austin, Jacey, Owen, Marek, Bryar, Killian (Gus Gus), Luke, Kane, and Landrie. She is also survived by her siblings Don and Richella Wing, Denette and Fred Grant, Ted and Joanne Wing, Traci and Darrel Johnson, and Mike Wing along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
