Michelle Rene Sigman
December 8th, 1968 - March 12th, 2025
Michelle Sigman, 56, of Olympia, WA, passed away suddenly on March 12, 2025.
She was born in Spokane, WA. She attended Columbia River High School in Vancouver WA and received her GED from Everett Community College in 1987. Michelle met and married Michael Sigman in 1988 and they recently celebrated 36 years of marriage. She shared the journey with him over 20 years of in the USAF.
Michelle accomplished many goals in life including becoming a licensed cosmetologist. She practiced this trade her entire adult life. She also worked in the finance field for both commercial leasing and the construction industries, including Lumberman’s and Mortenson Construction.
She had an early love of ballet, swimming and choir. Due to the on-the-go nature of military lifestyle, she was often found managing a full-time job and performing all the head of household responsibilities during deployments. She excelled at both, ensuring loving care for her son during these periods. She retired at the time of her passing and was just beginning to experience the new opportunities that provided.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Akers and Thorp, her bother Darin Thorp and daughter Taylor Sigman.
She is survived by her father, Wes Thorp (Sonja), Mother Sandi Dyer (Don), her husband Michael Sigman and his family, son James Sigman (Jennifer) and her grandchildren: Joey, James, and Jax. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Additionally, she is survived by many, many other wonderful family and friends that she loved dearly.
She is loved always and will not be forgotten.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
The family requests in lieu of flowers of gifts, donations be made to the Darine Thorp Play it Forward Foundation or the favorite personal charity of your choice.
