A son, father, brother, nephew, uncle, a devoted partner turned husband and friend. 

That's who Eric was. Outspoken & without a care in the world. Which made him truly one of a kind.

In the midst of our lives, it's hard to imagine how one single soul can have an impact upon us. How he brought together a family so close; yet friends of friends bonds deep as if blood couldn't make them any closer.

Even though he was cantankerous, he had a heart that was pure gold. Love that was unconditional & could never be mistaken for anything but genuine.

Eric had a spirit that could make you mad and happy at the same time. Even when he didn't want you to know his real intentions or feelings, somehow, he let it be known that he always was in control, letting you in. Finally.

A prideful man he was, he never showed weakness. Even up until the end of his life, Eric went on to his next journey with his head held high. knowing what was yet to come. He fought hard. Showing no mercy, still letting anyone know that he was still & simply "Eric".

In 25 years, he finally gained his partner, his friend, & most importantly his true love, Samantha. The love of his life. Whom never left his side, even when things got difficult, she always was there to catch him when he fell. 

As his family, lord please take care of Eric. Comfort him even when he feels he doesn't need it, because we all do. Guide him in this new world and always know Eric, that we are here with you. For you. For always.
