Juan "Rodie" Roswald Pippin
September 7th, 1950 - February 6th, 2025
In Loving Memory
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our brother, Juan Roswald Pippin, on February 6, 2025, at the age of 74.
Juan, affectionately known as Rodie, was born on September 7, 1950, in Durham, North Carolina to John and Myra Pippin. After graduating from Dorsey High School in Los Angeles, California, he served in the United States Army. A proud Vietnam Veteran, he was awarded several service awards, including a Purple Heart Medal and a Presidential Unit Citation.
Rodie loved watching sports and was an avid fan of the Dodgers and Lakers. He will be remembered for his kindness, love for and pride in our family, and service to our country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John (August 23, 2003) and Myra (December 18, 2017). He is survived by his brother, Welmon Pippin; sister Deborah King; nieces, Kimberly Pippin and Maya Smith (Brian); nephews, Welmon Pippin II (Michelle) and Norman King (Jamina); and a host of great nephews and nieces, and many other loving family members and friends.
He will be laid to rest with full military honors at a Veterans Cemetery, location to be determined.
