Colby Florian Splitt
October 17th, 1970 - February 22nd, 2025
After a long struggle with his health, Colby Florian Splitt, 54, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025, in Tucson.
Colby was born October 17, 1970, in Pullman, WA, to Carl and Corrine (Spear) Splitt. At a young age he became a forever Washington State Cougar because of his interest sports. It didn’t take him long after moving to Tucson in 1979 to become a true Wildcat fan. He participated in soccer and later played football at CDO High School. During his Sophomore year he was sidelined with a major knee injury. After that he pursued his passion for the arts. He loved painting abstract and landscape settings in different media. His latest interest was making creative walking sticks from Yucca stalks.
After graduating from CDO in 1989, his love for food and cooking motivated him to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Restaurant Management at Northern Arizona University. Graduating in 1994, he began a career in food sales. He enjoyed food, fishing, golf, and the rock band, RUSH. More than anything, he treasured his two sons, Jack and Cooper. Sadly, he lost Jack to severe cerebral palsy in 2016. Colby is survived by his son, Cooper, of Lakewood, Colorado, the mother of his children, Stacy Linn, his parents, Carl and Corrine Splitt, and many family members and friends. Although Colby is gone, he will be in our hearts forever
A celebration of his life will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., April 27, at his parents’ home, 1261 W. Liddell Place, Tucson.
