William "Bill" Arthur Singleton, Jr.
July 10th, 1936 - March 25th, 2025
Mr. William Arthur “Bill” Singleton, Jr. age 88, a resident of Auburndale, Florida went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Good Shepherd Hospice surrounded by family. Mr. Singleton was born July 10, 1936, in Auburndale, Florida to William Arthur and Elma (Forehand) Singleton, Sr. He was mostly a lifetime Auburndale resident but when Bill was 12 the family moved to Hardee County, Florida to farm. He graduated from Hardee High School Class of 1954 and was a member of the National Guard. Bill retired after 37 years from TECO. He was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church and the Civitan Club. He enjoyed traveling to Maggie Valley, Sky Valley and the mountains with his late wife Janet. He was an avid Gator fan, baked pecan pies, socializing with everyone, a blood donor of over 20 gallons and most of all loved spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife - Janet and 2 sisters – Virginia & Euginia. Bill is survived by his devoted family, 2 sons – William Scott “Scotty” Singleton of Auburndale, Florida and Christopher Derek “Chris” (Gina) Singleton of Auburndale, Florida; 2 grandsons – Adam Lane & Jacob Scott; 2 – step grandchildren – Marissa Loren & Justin Tyler; niece – Donna (Charlie) Scott of Zolfo Springs, Florida. Funeral services will be held 11am Saturday, April 5th at the First Missionary Baptist Church, 406 Main Street, Auburndale. With visitation beginning 10am at the church before services, interment will follow at Auburndale Memorial Park.
