William "Bill" Wesley Hanson
August 21st, 1944 - March 24th, 2025
William “Bill” Wesley Hanson, 80, passed away peacefully while wintering in Peoria, Arizona on March 24, 2025. Bill was born in Lansing, Michigan to Wesley and June Hanson on August 21, 1944.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Bonnielou Hanson; his stepchildren, Terri (Pat) Walter and Michael Herbst; his step-grandson, Daniel Grimm; and his siblings, Peter Hanson, Bonnie Chillquist, and Wendy (Keith) Katarincic. Bill also leaves behind close friend Roy.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and June Hanson, and his daughters, Marie and Rhonda Hanson, and close friend Ray.
A proud Air Force veteran, Bill was an active member of the American Legion Post 51 in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, where he cherished his friendships and camaraderie. He was an avid golfer, always enjoying a round with friends and family. Known as “Mr. Fix It,” Bill had a knack for repairing anything, often saying, “If I can’t fix it, it isn’t broken.”
Bill worked for the railroad company, sanding and painting train cars, and later as a Manager for JJ Transport, where he also took pride in inspecting and fixing gas haulers. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Bill will be remembered for his love of family, his sharp wit, and his ability to brighten any room with his presence. He was a man of integrity, humor, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at a later date in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.
