Melvin Loren Bemis

Embarking on his next adventure, Melvin Loren Bemis, 75, of San Manuel, Arizona, peacefully took his flight to heaven with much deserved angel wings in passing on March 12th, 2025 at Northwest Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Melvin is no longer in pain and is with our dear Lord.

Melvin was born to parents Donald M. Bemis and Opal O. Brown Bemis in Tucson, Arizona. He graduated from Amphitheater High School in 1968 and joined the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Vallejo, California. Melvin was also employed by Duval Mine (Green Valley, Arizona) and Blue Flame (Tucson, Arizona). In 1988, he moved to Elko, Nevada to work at the Newmont Gold Mine for 25 years.

Melvin married Julie Wieland and they welcomed a son, Michael Wayne, in 1971. He was then married to Jenny Sturgill and had a son, Jeffery. Then, he was married to Nancy Delfino and became a wonderful stepfather to Nichole.

His hobbies were his beloved trucks. Later in life, he enjoyed online war games.

Melvin is predeceased by his father, Donald M. Bemis, his brother, Garry Dean Bemis, and son, Michael Wayne Bemis.

Left to mourn his passing is his mother, Opal Bemis, brother, Daniel (Becky) Bemis, sister, Darlene Carpenter, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
