Miss Carolyn Denyse Yantorn, 55, of Cary/Apex passed away on March 25, 2025 under the care of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late James Yantorn and Joan Yantorn, who survives.
By those closest to her, Carolyn was better known as "Kiki". She graduated from ECU, but her heart belonged in the mountains at Appalachian State. She loved volunteering. baking and James Taylor. She enjoyed going to Hurricane's games and DPAC. On the weekends, an ideal day for her would be spent spending time with friends at a local brewery or spent reading at a local coffee shop.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Kaitlyn Wilbourne (Joseph); her granddaughter, Charlotte Wilbourne; her mother, Joan Yantorn; her sister, Jennifer Maready (Greg); and her niece, Devan Maready.
She is preceded in death by her father, James Yantorn.
A celebration of life service commemorating Carolyn will be held at a later date.
Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Lung Cancer Initiative and/or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
