Mary Ann (Taylor) Lindemann
December 6th, 1940 - March 20th, 2025
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Mary Ann (Taylor) Lindemann, who departed this life on March 20, 2025, in Olympia, Washington. Born on December 6, 1940, in Denver, Colorado, Mary Ann led a full life enriched by diverse experiences and meaningful relationships.
Mary Ann was known for her outgoing nature and her droll sense of humor, qualities that endeared her to her family and friends. Her presence was vibrant, and she often brought warmth and joy to those around her. A graduate of Whitefish Bay High School in Milwaukee, Mary Ann furthered her education at the University of Arizona where she earned both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree by 1974. During her academic journey, she was a proud member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority and in later life she joined the Beta Sigma Phi Service Sorority and was an active member until her passing. Once she moved to Olympia, Washington Mary Ann became a member and active participant in the Capital City Newcomers Club, as well as the Rose Garden Singers.
Her professional career began with secretarial roles from 1960 to 1974, but it was in her work as an Adult Probation Officer across Tucson, Arizona, and later in San Antonio and Dallas, Texas, where she truly made her mark. From 1974 until her retirement in 2008, Mary Ann dedicated herself to serving her community with compassion and integrity.
Mary Ann's personal life was rich with interests and talents. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed jewelry making, loved singing, and had a special fondness for pets. Her creative spirit was matched only by her love for her family. Married to Peter J. Lindemann III on July 22, 1978, in Tucson, Arizona, Mary cherished her role as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Ann Roitt of Silver Pond Farm, Berlin, Wisconsin, and her granddaughter, Deborah Rose Pena of Brooklyn, New York and Los Angeles, California.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her beloved parents, W. James Taylor and Rozella May (née Thornburg) Taylor, whose memories she always honored.
