Flahiff Funeral Chapels & Crematory-Caldwell
Myrtie Alline Clemens
October 19th, 1940 - March 27th, 2025
Alline (Wendy) Clemens peacefully passed away in the presence of her three daughters on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the age of 84. She was born in Rush, KY on October 19, 1940, to the late Samuel and Myrtie Pennington Hensley. She married the love of her life Howard Clemens on July 11, 1958, and the two were married for 47 years, before laying him to rest in 2003. They had five children, two of whom she is reunited with, Sheila Harshbarger and Randy Clemens. In addition to her parents, late husband, and two children, Alline is also having a Heavenly reunion with her son-in-law Robert Kitchen, granddaughter Shelly Rosenberry, grandson Travis Kitchen and grandson-in-law Colin Davis. She will also be reuniting with her brothers, Samuel Hensley Jr., Curtis Hensley, Earl Hensley and Charles Hensley, and her sisters Gladys Martin and Darline Newton.
Alline’s pride and joy was always her family. She supported and encouraged them in everything they tried to achieve. While watching her children and grandchildren perform or compete in anything, the mark of approval, pride and love always came in the form of her assuring wink. She was very competitive, and it served her well as she also enjoyed bowling, playing baseball and badminton, and anything else that meant she could win! She had a knack for creating. Whether it was painting ceramics, quilting, crocheting, or cooking, you could usually find her pouring her heart into something, often just to give it to someone she loved. She was her best self in the kitchen, preparing for big holiday dinners, or other family gatherings. She could do it all, from her infamous corn dogs to a sit-down dinner. Camping was another favorite past time for her, especially if it meant that the family all came along. Family was the nucleus of life for Alline. She absolutely loved spending time with her sisters and always looked forward to the days they would get to spend together.
Alline worked hard all her life at various jobs. She loved being known for her hardworking job as Head Housekeeper at Shilo and Comfort Inn. Her strict attention to detail was felt by the staff on many occasions. She was a perfectionist at everything she did. She lived by the motto that anything worth doing was worth doing correctly. Alline was proud of where she came from, which was made obvious when she would passionately sing Loretta Lynn’s ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter’ any time she had the chance. Music was a staple in her life, she loved to listen to it, and she was quite the singer. A love that she has graciously passed on to her children, grandchildren and beyond.
Alline leaves behind her three daughters, Cheryl Shroll and her husband Wayne of Nampa, ID, Reina Kitchen Bristow and her husband Charley of Nampa, and Shawna Hinkle and her husband Ben of Caldwell, ID; son-in-law Greg Harshbarger and daughter-in-law Esther Clemens, 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, two sisters Francie Vance and Margie Owens, and many nieces and nephews.
No matter the circumstances, we always knew we could count on Mom and rest in her love. She supported us in every high and every low, no matter what. She left no room for doubt. We knew all we had to do was call Mom, and she would come running. To say she was loved would be an understatement. Just as she loved us with no limit, our love for her will never end.
We love you, Mom. Always and forever.
Visitation for friends and family will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, located at 624 Cleveland Blvd., Caldwell, ID from 5 pm to 7 pm.
