It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Kirk William Baumes, aged 50, on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at his home in Stuttgart, Germany. Kirk was born on March 18, 1974, in Oneida, NY, to Stephen and Gail (Ireland) Baumes.
A 1992 graduate of Broadalbin-Perth High School, Kirk continued his studies at Fulton-Montgomery Community College before dedicating himself to service. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1995 to 1999 and later as a consultant with the armed forces. At the time of his passing, he was pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity online at Utica University.

A true adventurer at heart, Kirk's love for travel took him across the globe. He called many places home, from New York to Germany, Hawaii, Italy, England, Utah, Mississippi, California, and Maryland. When he wasn't working at new destinations, Kirk enjoyed playing World of Warcraft, snorkeling, scuba diving, and indulging in his passion for film and television. He was also a connoisseur of fine whiskey and had a particular fondness for dark chocolate.
