Larry Thomas EvansJanuary 14, 1941 – March 11, 2025

Larry Thomas Evans, affectionately known as Tom, was born on January 14, 1941, in Chico, California, to Lyle and Mary Evans. He was the third of five children and grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, where he attended South High School, graduating in 1959.

Following high school, Tom proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for four years before returning home to Omaha. After his military service, he worked at Clarkson Hospital, repairing medical equipment. Determined to further his education, he attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, earning a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1969. While at UNL, he also taught electronics, sharing his knowledge and passion with others.

In 1960, Tom married the love of his life, Judie, in Pacific Junction, Iowa. Their marriage spanned an incredible 65 years, built on love, adventure, and unwavering companionship. The two met while attending school and church at Our Lady of Lourdes in Omaha. Together, they raised five children: James, Jennifer, Greg, Lisa, and Jill. Tom’s adventurous spirit ensured that family trips were always memorable—never taking the most direct route and never stopping to ask for directions!

Tom’s professional career led him to Northwestern Bell, where he served as a manager in Grand Island and McCook, Nebraska. In 1982, he took a leap of faith and founded Tel-Share, a long-distance communications company. Later in life, he and Judie moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, to expand the family business and be closer to loved ones.

A lifelong Nebraska Cornhuskers football fan, Tom’s enthusiasm for the game was contagious. He proudly passed his love of football on to his children, leading to many lively gatherings filled with excitement, laughter, and a sea of red.

Tom was a gifted storyteller, known for his quick wit and ability to bring joy to those around him. His legacy lives on in the love he shared, the memories he created, and the laughter he inspired. He is survived by his beloved wife, Judie; his children James, Jennifer, Greg, Lisa, and Jill; his grandchildren Matthew, Kina, Alixzandra, Evan, Aubrey, Rylan, Delanee, Cooper, Anna Lee, Carlee, Faeryn, and Emma Rose; his great-grandchildren Alaina, Derek, Ivee, and Milo; his daughter-in-law, Koral; and his son-in-law, Aaron.

A Celebration of Life will be held this summer at Our Lady of Lourdes in Omaha, Nebraska.

Tom’s love for life and family will never be forgotten. His stories, laughter, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
