BRANDON, FLORIDA - Richard Albert St. Amand, 84, of Brandon, Florida, previously from Berwick, Maine, passed away on the morning of March 15, 2025 at the Life Path Sun City Center Hospice House in Sun City, Florida. He was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and eventually relocated to Berwick, Maine with his spouse, Karlene St. Amand to raise their family. During this time, Richard served at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and retired in 1994, at which time he moved his family to Florida. During his time in Florida, he continued to work until the age of 79, at which time he officially retired.

Richard was a family man and enjoyed working on home improvements, utilizing his resources wisely, and spending time with his spouse, Karlene. He also loved to eat, and liked to share his sense of humor, enjoying lightening the mood for others. Some of his other interests included: completing crossword puzzles in the daily newspaper, watching sports and movies, and reading about history and studying geography.

He is survived by his wife, Karlene St. Amand of Brandon, Florida, his two sons; David and Keith St. Amand of Brandon, Florida; his daughter, Cheri Griffin and her husband Charles Griffin of Bangor, Maine; brother, Walter St. Amand and wife Kathy St. Amand of Dracut, Massachusetts; sister, Nancy Potvin of Plaistow, New Hampshire; niece and her husband, Michelle Hartwell and James Hartwell of Plaistow, New Hampshire, his feline companions, Patches and Sophie. In accordance to his wishes, Richard will be cremated and will remain with his family. He chose not to have a celebration of life indicating “I do not want people making a fuss over me.”

Although Richard was quiet, he would do anything to help others in need, expecting nothing in return. He saw the importance of slowing down and spending quality time with others. Richard will be missed immensely by all that truly knew and loved him.
