“May we think of freedom, not as the right to do as we please but as the opportunity to do what is right.” — Unknown

Larry Kent Ragle, age 81 of Mount Carmel, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.  Larry was born on November 15, 1943, to James and Leila Ragle. Larry bravely served his country by serving in the U.S. Army Air Calvary during Vietnam.  One of the most notable battles that he fought in was the Battle of Ia Drang, which was the first major battle between the United States Army and the People's Army of Vietnam.

Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He loved spending time with his family and he will be dearly missed by all those who know him.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Delores Ragle; six brothers, Gene, Wallace, Jim, John, Gary, and Terry; and three sisters, Betty, Shirley, and Elizabeth.  Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Kenneth Ragle, and Jason Ragle and wife, Robin; seven grandchildren, Haley, Emma, Graham, Heath, Leah, Josie, and Hayden; six great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Colt, Brentley, Calvin, Weston, and Waylon; and many loving nieces, nephews, and other family members.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home Church Hill on Saturday, April 5, 2025. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at Mount Mitchell Cemetery with Pastor Steve Wade officiating. Larry’s family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.  Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:50 pm.

Carter-Trent Funeral Home Church Hill is serving the Ragle family.
