Lissie L. McGuire, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 29, 2025, at the age of 80. Though her earthly journey has ended, her soul now rests in the glorious presence of Christ, whom she faithfully served throughout her life.

Born on June 28, 1944, in Harlan, Kentucky, Lissie was the daughter of the late Thomas and Alice Osborne Middleton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Charles L. McGuire; three sisters, Sally Shuler, Myrtle Dean, and Lucy Bueno; and three brothers, Dickie, Jim, and Ernest Middleton.

Lissie is survived by her devoted son, Charles R. McGuire of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, and her cherished cockapoo, Dolly. She also leaves behind two special nieces, Lynda Gail Daniels of Georgetown, Kentucky, and Alice Blanton of Loyall, Kentucky; two dear lifelong friends, Jean Bradford and Jeanine York; and many other nieces, nephews, and treasured friends.

Lissie dedicated 20 years of service to the Jessamine County Board of Transportation, but her greatest devotion was to her faith. She was a dedicated member of Todds Road Grace Church in Lexington, Kentucky, where she worshipped and grew in the Word of God. She found strength and comfort in Proverbs 3:5-6, which she often quoted: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.” Her guiding faith was the foundation of her life, and she instilled in others the importance of trusting in God’s plan.

She also cherished life’s simple, joyful moments - spending time outdoors, gardening, cooking, and working with her hands. Lissie lived a life of love, humility, and unwavering faith, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and devotion that will continue through all who were blessed to know her.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing on Tuesday, April 1, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A celebration of her life and faith will be held at Clark Legacy Center on Wednesday at 10:00 AM, officiated by her pastor, Todd Nibert. Lissie will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

Those who know Christ take comfort in the promise of John 11:25, where Jesus said: “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”

Her kindness, faith, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
