Edna Faye Abercrombie
October 7th, 1930 - March 24th, 2025
In Loving Memory
Edna Abercrombie nee Everett born October 7, 1930, in Oklahoma passed into eternal life with her savior on March 24, 2025, in Salinas California at the age of 94 years and 5 months. Edna is the fourth of eleven children born to Sina and Martin J. Everett.
Edna became a member of the Hebron Heights Pentecostal Church of God in 1969 which eventually became Echoes from Calvary Pentecostal Church of God in 1981. Edna was a passionate servant of Jesus and filled many roles in her 56 years of membership. During her time, she was church secretary, president of the Pentecostal Ladies Auxiliary (PLA’s), cook for the Little Friends Preschool and Daycare, and vocalist in the choir. One of the things she was most proud of was helping to clean and prepare meals for the construction crew during the building program for Echoes from Calvary Church.
Edna’s hobbies included sewing, crocheting, and anything to do with crafts. She was often found at her sewing machine making alterations for family members or making dresses for loved ones. Her handmade Afghan blankets are prized possessions among family and friends. She also loved to bake especially during holidays where everyone in the family would often get their favorite dessert.
Edna was preceded in death by her loving husband Thomas Albert Abercrombie who passed in 1986 after 38 years of marriage. In her final days, Edna was cared for by her loving family and passed peacefully in her home.
Edna is survived by her two children Chris (Pam) Abercrombie and Shirley Oney; four grandchildren, Kristi (Tony) DeAnda, Kevin Abercrombie, Charlie (Mary) Oney, and Chad (Lucy) Oney; six great-grandchildren, Alyssa (Danny) Barrera, Andrew (Rachael) DeAnda, Adam DeAnda, Abigail DeAnda, Katlin Oney, and Addison Oney; two great-great-grandchildren James DeAnda and Elijah DeAnda; two brothers Guy Everett from Moore, Oklahoma and Jimmy Everett from San Diego, California; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Edna is preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters Jewell Bruno, Lou Etta Jameson, Geneva Perkins, Donna Collier, Martin Julius “Buddy” Everett, Jerry Everett, Larry Everett, Billy Everett; one grandchild Karen Abercrombie.
Though Edna’s passing is painful, the family takes great comfort that she no longer has any pain and is dancing on the streets of gold with family and loved ones who went before her.
Her viewing will be Tuesday, April 1st from 1-5pm at Healey Mortuary Chapel. Her burial will take place on Wednesday, April 2nd at 11am at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Prunedale.

We Entrusted Edna Abercrombie's Care To
Healey Mortuary
At Healey, we treat our Salinas Valley community members like family. Our story begins after World War II when Veteran Herbert C. Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
