"He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”" - ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21‬:‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Brenda Lee Mottner (Norris) passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025, surrounded by family in her home in Roy, WA where she has been a resident for the last 16 years. She spent the last 14 months battling colon cancer and fought with everything she had. She remained strong-willed to the end & went out on her own terms.

Brenda was born on November 4, 1962, to parents Judy Norris and Bud Norris in Portland, Oregon. Brenda grew up in Ridgefield with her parents & brother Adam. As a young girl she developed a deep love for all things outdoors. In particular Brenda had a great love for horses, the mountains and fishing.

On one of her first fishing trips, she caught a huge Dolly Varden trout, bigger than anything her dad had ever caught, and from there she was hooked. She went on to spend many a day on the water with her kids & husband & still holds the record for biggest salmon to make it onto the boat.

Growing up she also owned several different horses. She spent numerous hours in the saddle, whether it was on the beach, in the woods or in the arena. There was nothing that could keep her out of the saddle, not even a broken arm, she always found a way to get in a good ride. One of her favorite places to ride her most beloved horse Latch, was at the Rock Creek campground, she spent countless weekends riding through the woods up there. She often recalled a story of a time when she was on a poker ride, got lost, and had to stay overnight unprepared in the woods. She was an excellent storyteller and always had so many great stories to share. One of her other favorite stories to recount, was of her "big foot" encounter. She would go on to collect all kinds of Sasquatch memorabilia.

She had a great eye for interior decor & artwork. She often made handmade gifts & drawings; these were some of her family's favorite gifts to receive. She was a great bargain shopper & loved looking for unique pieces to take home and make her own.

In June of 1991 Brenda met her Husband Richard Mottner III. She immediately fell in love with his "cowboy eyes" and they were married 10 months later on April 26, 1992, and are still married today after 32 years. They went on to have 3 children, Sidnee, Austin, and Skylor. Brenda was an exceptional mom and spent hours volunteering at her kids' events for 4-h and boy-scouts. On the weekends you could find her at a horse show, county fair, or camping with the boy-scouts.  She loved being involved & spending time giving back.

Brenda was remarkable mother, wife, and friend. She touched many lives and had maintained several lifelong friendships. Beloved by many, she was a kind, loving, loved to have fun, and loved to help people. She was also a woman of great faith, who spread the love of Jesus far and wide.

Brenda is survived by her husband Richard Mottner |||; Daughter Sidnee Nelson and Son in law DJ Nelson; Daughter Austin Mottner; Son Skylor Mottner ; Father Bud (Jerome) Norris; Brother Adam Norris; and Sister Anne Clem. Friends and Family will gather at the Mottner residence in Roy, WA on Saturday April 26, 2025, to have a celebration of life bonfire. Her ashes will be scattered at Rock Creek Campground and at her residence at a later date.
