In Loving Memory

Mrs. Peggy Joan (Shea) Nelson was born June 16, 1956, to the late John “Jack” Shea and Mary "Polly" Shea of Bethpage, Long Island. She went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 31, 2025.

Peggy was a talented seamstress and loving wife of 25 years. She was an active member of the Guilford Courthouse Fife & Drum Corps where she met her husband, Michael. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and donating her crafts to those in need. She was also a devout Christian and known by all to be the best listening ear. Peggy was witty, loved word games and making people laugh. In her younger years, she was a master marksman and excellent swimmer. The greatest joys of her life were her husband, children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Eli Nelson; daughters, Katie Marie Nelson and Elissa Cole (husband Nolan); and her grandchildren, Ryleigh and Everett. She is also survived by her sisters, Jill Shea of Winston-Salem, Allison Beal and husband, Jeff, of Manasquan, New Jersey, her brothers, Michael Shea and wife, Debbie, of Winston-Salem, and John “Tom” Shea of Winston-Salem; her many loving nieces and nephews and her best friend, Christy Carter of Colfax.

The family will be receiving friends for a Celebration of Life held in Mills Hall at Kerwin Baptist Church, 4520 Old Hollow Rd, Kernersville, NC 27284 on Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 2:00PM and 4:00PM.
