Max Arthur Beyersdorf III passed away on March 25, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona. He was born on September 13, 1935, in Grand Island, Nebraska, to Max and Sadie Beyersdorf.

Max began his life of service by enlisting in the United States Navy on August 10, 1953. During his time in the Navy, he completed electronics training at ET School Class A and attended the GTC for Petty Officers Course for Seaman in San Francisco, California. His final assignment was with COMSERVPAC SERVADMIN before receiving an honorable discharge from the reserves in August 1961.

Following his military service, Max pursued higher education at the University of Iowa, where he earned a degree in Physical Therapy in 1960.

Though offered a trainer position with the Boston Red Sox, Max chose to focus on advancing the field of physical therapy. He played a significant role in establishing private practice offices in Denver, Colorado. Later, Max opened his own practice in North Platte, Nebraska. There he expanded access to specialized care by bringing professionals such as speech therapists to the area. His dedication to improving patient care was recognized when he received the M.E. Sacksteder Award in 1986 for outstanding contributions to the advancement of physical therapy.

In 1977, Max experienced a spiritual transformation and dedicated his life to Jesus Christ. His faith became a guiding force in his life as he shared the gospel through both small gestures—such as pens he crafted himself—and larger missions that took him as far as Cambodia.

It was in North Platte that Max met Barbara, who would become his beloved wife. They were married on October 30, 1976, blending their families and sharing a mutual love for family, faith, and travel.

For the past thirty years, Max made his home in Tucson, Arizona. Those who knew him will remember his unwavering commitment to service—both to his country and to the well-being of others through his professional and spiritual endeavors.

Max is survived by his wife Barbara; brother Ralph Beyersdorf and wife Bobbie of Loveland, CO; daughter Vickie Meyer of Houston, TX; daughter Karen Blake and husband Tom of Belleair, FL; son Ken Beyersdorf and wife Marcie of Scottsdale, AZ; son Kirk Beyersdorf and wife Kim of Conroe, TX; son Jeffrey Greenwood and wife Brittany of North Fort Meyers, FL; stepdaughter Jude Kinsinger of North Platte, NE; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Max and Sadie; brother Arnold and wife Doris; stepson Ken; and stepdaughter Karla.

A Military Honors and Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 26, at 1pm at Adair Avalon Chapel, 8090 N Northern Ave, Oro Valley, AZ 85704

In lieu of flowers and plants, donations may be made to Optimist International or Cambodian Ministries for Christ, 2304 Snowden Ave, Long Beach, CA 90815
