James Edwards Viberg

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of James Edward Viberg; a beloved partner, father, grandfather, and brother, who passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, at the age of 76.

Born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Jim moved to Tucson, AZ in 1972. He was a devoted life partner to Sandy, with whom he shared 30 years of love, companionship, and happiness. Jim was the loving father to Deidra and Jessica (husband Mike), and a cherished grandfather to two granddaughters, Orion and Zoe, who were the light of his life. Jim was also a caring brother to his two surviving sisters, Ellen and Linda, who will forever treasure the bond they shared with their “baby brother.” Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Norma Viberg and his brother, John; all of whom he loved deeply.

For over 30 years, Jim & Sandy ran a successful roofing company, J.E.V Roofing, where their reputation for honesty, quality work and dedication earned the respect of the community. Jim's employees displayed rare loyalty, a testament to his character and compassion.

A lifelong golfer, Jim, had three holes in one and enjoyed reading, movies, fishing, skiing, camping, and watching college sports. Known for his kind heart, sense of humor, and unwavering loyalty, Jim was a man of integrity who had a beautiful ability to see the good in anyone he met.

In his honor, consider becoming an organ donor, as Jim received a liver transplant that extended his life by 23 years, or donating to causes he cared about, such as your local Humane Society or Best Friends.

Jim A.K.A. Jimbo, a gentle soul whose kindness will echo in eternity.
