Patricia Lloyd
June 9th, 1935 - March 6th, 2025
Patricia Lloyd, 89, passed away peacefully on March 6th surrounded by her loving family
in Longmont, CO.
Born on June 9, 1935 to Max and Dorothy Wilks, Pat grew up in her hometown of Aurora,
IL. She was a caring older sister to her younger brothers while being able to visit her grandparents and other close family members nearby.
After graduating from East Aurora High School, she chased her dreams of traveling abroad
by joining the State Department. In 1962, She married Judson Lloyd in Thailand, the two having met there when she was on assignment earlier in her career.
Together, they returned to the United States in the first of many moves, having four children
along the way. Pat was able to finish many college courses during this time in different states
and completed an accredited operating room technician program in 1976 starting her on a new career. During this time, she fit in two medical missionary trips to Haiti and the Yucatan.
A couple of years later, while undergoing a divorce, Pat moved with her children to Longmont as a single mom. She was hired at Longmont United Hospital spending the next 37 years working beside many surgeons, nurses and medical personnel who became family and friends. She adored this job and approached her work with a great dedication and passion as she did in other areas of her life.
It was with this energetic zeal that Pat pursued her hobbies as well. Earlier, she had taken up photography with her own dark rooms. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, house plants, caring for her many pets. Later, it was a saltwater aquarium and a koi pond, then machine embroidery. She loved being entertained by a good Rockies, Broncos or Nuggets game at home or in person. Over the years, Pat belonged to many bowling leagues and participated in many bowling tournaments. The Las Vegas bowling tournament trips with friends were most memorable and fun for her.
Pat expressed gratitude for her wonderful life filled with children, family, friends, travel, and the love and adventures that went along with all that. We will remember her quick, witty responses and air-blown kisses. Mostly, we will remember her in our hearts saying "Eat dessert first!" and smile, knowing dessert was her meal and love her forever.
Pat is survived by; her brothers, Dave (Bette) Wilks, Dan (Julie) Knapp; her children, Kathy (Gary) Stinson, Pam Stratton, Mark (Kristi) Lloyd, Jeff (Mona) Lloyd; 3 nephews; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and extended family members.
Her memorial service will be Friday, April 4, 2025 ,11am, at Carroll-Lewellen Longmont with reception following.
We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to all at Synergy Home Care, Beatrice Hover Assisted Living and Canyon Hospice that cared for and laughed with Pat as her memory and body dwindled, while her fiery spirit remained.
