Patrick T Whalen

Patrick "Pat” Whalen of Greeley Colorado passed on April 24th, 2019. He was born on October 1, 1946. He is survived by his wife Connie Redman, to whom he was married for 28 beautiful years. Pat is also survived by four stepchildren, Mike Bishop, Michelle (Tony) Wilson, James (Jules) Wilcox, and Ed (Carrie) Wilcox, siblings Jim (Vicki) Hein, Lori (Tony) Lovato, 3 step grandchildren, and 6 nieces and nephews. Pat served in the Army from 1966 – 1968 and spent a year in Viet Nam in the medical supply depot during the TET Offensive by North Vietnam. In his youth, Pat loved playing any sport that involved a ball. He worked in the grocery business before and after his military service and eventually went to work at Windsor High School in maintenance until he retired. Pat made a multitude of close friends while at the school and was highly regarded by staff and students. He loved to read and watch sports, but his passion from a young age was pool. He played regularly and competed in many tournaments through the years, earning his reputation as a pool shark. Pat also competed in several chili cook offs as he loved hot chili and he had a real knack for cooking it. Pat loved life, his family and friends and was a joy and inspiration to be around. His brother, Jim, says of pat, "Pat was a great brother despite the age difference and taught me how to play baseball and basketball. I enjoyed playing pool with him even though he kicked my ass most of the time. He was a good person and was kind to everyone. He never came to a family function without a big bowl of his famous salsa. He loved his family wholeheartedly and he will be greatly missed by all whose lives were touched by him."
