Lienkaemper Funeral Chapel-Ontario
Ruby Alice Boyd-Cramer
December 4th, 1928 - April 2nd, 2025
Ruby Boyd Cramer Obituary Ruby Boyd Cramer died peacefully in the arms of her husband John on April 2, 2025, at their home, Karcher Estates in Nampa, Idaho. She was 96 years old at the time of her passing.
Ruby grew up in Yakima, Washington, the daughter of Grace and James Feltar, who retired as a professor at Northwest Nazarene College. She graduated from NNC in 1948 with a degree in Music, then received her teaching credentials from the University of Idaho in 1950. It was there she met and married Harry Boyd, her husband of 65 years until his death in 2018. Harry and Ruby were educators for over 35 years primarily in Ontario, Oregon. Ruby spent many years as the Jr. High Choral music teacher, and also taught a few years at the elementary schools. Over the years since her retirement in 1988 she enjoyed keeping contact with many of her former students.
Harry and Ruby raised three children Judy, Mike and Bob Boyd, all of them graduating from Ontario High School. Ruby was extremely proud of and doted on her 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Ruby was a “force of nature”, one that could always be counted on to get things done. Her children always knew how much they were loved. Her students never thought to cross her and all her choirs were superb performers. She loved to shop, taking some pride in getting the ultimate value. A 50 year member of PEO, she also was highly involved in Ontario’s Community Concert series. A long time member of the Ontario Methodist Church, Ruby served often as the choir director and/or pianist.
She was an excellent and passionate duplicate bridge player, usually pairing with her friend of 60 years, Marolyn Poole. Ruby played up until the last week of her life.
After retirement, Ruby and Harry greatly enjoyed traveling the world, including RV trips all over North America, most often to Alaska. Most of these trips were with good friends Norm and Marolyn Poole or John and Claudia Cramer. For about 30 years, winters were spent in Arizona, near a number of relatives who had relocated there.
After Harry passed in 2018, Ruby reconnected with John Cramer, her NNC classmate, fellow Ontario teacher, RV travel buddy, and occasional bridge partner. They were married in 2019 with all of their progeny present. Ruby and John then lived together in Nampa, Idaho until her death. She was certainly blessed to have John share her final years of life.
All are invited to a memorial service to honor Ruby’s life, which will be held Saturday July 5, 2025 at 2:00PM at Franklin Community Church 8499 Hwy 20-26 Nampa, Idaho. A smaller graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery in Ontario will occur April 26, 2025 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be directed to the J.A. Feltar Scholarship Fund at Northwest Nazarene University.

Our story begins in 1907 when the Peterson family, who owned a furniture store in Ontario, helped with funeral arrangements and sold caskets from the store’s basement. Over the years, the business has grown and had a number of owners, partnerships and names. Among them was our current namesake, the Lienkaemper family, who purchased the family funeral home with the mission of helping families in the Ontario community. ...
