David "Buga" Andrew Silva
October 15th, 1968 - March 29th, 2025
David (Dave) Andrew Silva, also known to many as “Buga” aged 56, passed away Saturday March 29th at home in his beloved workshop surrounded by his loved ones. Dave was born and raised in Gloucester Massachusetts. As a lifelong resident he went to Gloucester High School and graduated in ‘86; while attending, he participated in the carpentry shop program. Dave was a skillful and dedicated carpenter by trade, his beautiful craftsmanship can be found in hundreds of homes throughout Gloucester and Cape Ann. Many who have had work done by him have described him as a master of his craft.
Throughout his life, Dave became involved in a variety of riding clubs and organizations such as: Aces and Eights, Cape Ann Sportsman’s Club, Tyrian-Ashler-Acacia Lodge in Gloucester MA, and also a member of the Widow’s Sons, Ipswich Fish and Game Association, and The Mass Mudders. He was also an avid competitive sports shooter of .22 pistol and sporting clays. In his free time Dave looked forward to loading up his truck for a day at the range or to go hunting with his friends and his hunting dog Bristol.
Dave was not only dedicated to his hobbies, but he also took the role as a devoted father and to taking care of his family. He was a loving husband to his wife Staci Silva for 25 years and was the proud father to his children: Lindzy Silva, John Bradley Wright, and Markus Silva. Dave never missed an opportunity to teach them a new skill or introduce them to a new hobby. He especially enjoyed shooting Wednesdays and Sundays with Lindzy. When he wasn’t out in the community or working, David enjoyed relaxing at home with his loyal companions, Bristol, Tyson, and Sammie. Alongside Staci and the kids, David was predeceased and survived in death by: his mother Geraldine Silva, his father Joel P. Silva, and his brother Joel “Pete” Silva Jr. and his significant other Donna, mother in law Arline Bradley and sister in law Meghan Bradley.
Throughout his life, David had gained many lifelong and cherished friends. David will be remembered for his quick wit and sarcasm, and that he would go above and beyond for those he cared about and his organizations.
