Veronica Jeanne Coddington
November 27th, 1944 - March 26th, 2025
Born on November 27, 1944 in Cheyenne, WY, Veronica Jeanne Edmundson Coddington died on March 26, 2025in Santa Cruz, CA at the age of 80. Jeanne was proceeded into death by her husband of 36years, James “Jim” Coddington as well as both her parents: Bernard Edmundson, Sr and Verna Edmundson. She is survived by her three children: Jeanine Richardson (Darrell), Jerrod Coddington (Tina) and Jeffrey Coddington, her grandchildren: Elizabeth Caughman and Banks Caughman, her siblings: Bernard Edmundson, Jr, Mary Hunt, Krista Edmundson, Patrice Osborne and Blaise Edmundson, along with nieces and nephews. She attended Holy Cross schools while living in Santa Cruz as a child, but graduated Sal pointe Catholic High School in Tucson, AZ. She also graduated from Cabrillo Community College and San Jose State University. A community servant, Jeanne was a Special Education Instructional Technician assisting with the growth of young minds with Santa Cruz City Schools for 44 years. She coached soccer and t-ball as well as held leadership positions for Santa Cruz Little League. She is also the one that is remembered to be the boys’ taxi with their teammates to all sporting events. She supported many causes such as the Friends of Santa Cruz Public Libraries, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Paralyzed Veterans of America, National Wildlife Federation, and many youth athletic organizations. Jeanne was an avid sports fan. She always knew the latest news and stats for the 49ers, Giants, local high school as well as women’s sports. When sports weren’t on the TV, she enjoyed reading and watching westerns. Visiting and keeping abreast of seasonal changes of Yosemite was also a passion of hers. Services will be held Monday, April 7, 2025 at Benito &Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel. Visitation will begin at10:00 am with the funeral service immediately following at 12 pm. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to a charity of your choice.
