David Lee Bylkas
September 30th, 1941 - March 28th, 2025
David Lee Bylkas passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born on September 30, 1941, David lived a life grounded in faith, service, and devotion to his family.
He served in the U.S. Navy as an electronics specialist before embarking on a distinguished career as a building official. Over the course of more than 30 years, David contributed to public service in Colorado Springs, Davis, California, and concluded his career in Bellevue, Washington.
Following retirement, David returned to Colorado and remained deeply involved in his church community. He found fulfillment in fellowship and dedicated himself to volunteer prison ministry, sharing his faith and compassion with others.
Together with his wife of 49 years, Kathy Bylkas, David embraced a life of purpose and adventure, spending one week each month traveling across the United States.
David is lovingly remembered by his wife Kathy; his children Michelle Poligala (Rick), Michael Bylkas (Maria), Linda Kooker (Daniel), and Mark Bylkas (Debbie); and his stepdaughter Jennifer Kirk (Patrick). He was preceded in death by his stepson Phillip Besson. He was a proud grandfather to 18 grandchildren and great-grandfather to 15 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at Front Range Alliance Church, 5210 Centennial Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80919, on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 4:00 PM. Close family and friends are invited to join in honoring his memory.
David's legacy of love, service, and steadfast faith will continue to inspire all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
