Jeff Douglas Lunceford
November 23rd, 1954 - June 23rd, 2019
Jeff Douglas Lunceford, 64, of Montana, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2019 in Loveland, Colorado surrounded by his family. Jeff was born in Deer lodge, Montana to Edwin and Needa Lunceford on November 23, 1954. Jeff grew up with his brothers and sisters in Montana, Colorado, and Wyoming. He enjoyed the outdoors, music, dancing, fixing and racing cars, and pulling a few pranks on his sisters over the years! Jeff and Theresa Walsh married in 1977 and they had three healthy (good looking kids he’d like to say with a wink) children Elizabeth, Jered, and Logan. They loved their children and wanted only the best for them. He loved becoming a grandpa and was very proud of his grand kids. Jeff was an Electrician by trade, but would work on and fix just about anything that needed fixing. He had a strong desire to know how things worked and had the patience to figure them out. He loved to teach others how to fix things too. No job was too big or small to tackle, he wouldn’t give up and you could hear him saying "lets figure this out, I think if we do this we can fix it, now let’s get this tool and get to work”, he’d adjust his hat and get to it. He was never shy to dirty his hands to get the job done. He was a great listener and would always help anyone in need. Sometimes he would offer you a piece or two of advice if you wanted it or not! He would give you the shirt off his back to help his family and friends. He wasn’t perfect, but his heart was big and caring. Jeff always had a twinkle in his eyes, a smile that warmed your heart, with some mischievousness mixed in, and confidence to make you believe anything was possible. He had a strong belief that anything could be fixed it just might need some extra elbow grease! He had a great love of the outdoors, spending time in the mountains and even looked for buried treasure with his brother in the Superstition Mountains. He loved animals and even rescued a chicken one year! He loved riding motorcycles, finding and fixing antique treasures, learning and sharing the history of people and places, and finding a great steal of a deal. He would love to have you pull up a chair to have some coffee and conversation. He might even let you have some of his banana bread. His mind was sharp and he had a great memory for telling stories of places and events. We will miss his stories. In his treasures we found this quote "It’s not whether you get knocked down, its whether you get back up.” Vince Lombardi. Which fit Jeff very well. He had many hard times and obstacles in his life, but his faith, hope, and great love of life and his family kept him going. He never gave up even when things seemed at their worst. He thanked the Lord for each day. He passes the legacy of hard work, determination, loyalty, and faith to his family. We know he is having coffee and catching up with love ones that went before him. He missed them all very much. You are gone too soon from our lives, but we find comfort you are with your love ones again. We will think of Jeff when we spend time in the mountains, enjoying a great cup of coffee, a cold beer on a hot day, maybe a whiskey while listening to Scottish bagpipes play. Dad, Papa, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, and Friend you will be deeply missed by all who knew you, till we see you again we will carry you in our hearts. Jeff is survived by his daughter Elizabeth, sons Jered and Logan, grandchildren Kadence, Maniyah, Hayden, Trinity, Brayden, Justin, and Jason. Sisters Christie (Terry), Linda, Peggy, brothers Dale (Kathy), and Troy (Barbara), Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and friends too many to list.
