Kenneth John Eickhoff died at Friends of Caroline Hospice on April 6th, 2025 in Ridgeland, South Carolina. He was 86.
Kenneth was born on September 15, 1938 in The Bronx, New York to his parents, John Arthur and Katherine Hoch Eickhoff. He graduated from Staples High School in Westport, Connecticut and Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio and was an active member of the Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity.
He married Ann Marie Compton on February 13, 1965 and worked for the Dow Jones Company for 30 years. Kenneth served as a Director of Human Resources and Director of Information Systems for Dow Jones. He and AnnMarie lived in Milltown, NJ, Princeton Junction, New Jersey, Bucks County, Pennsylvania and Longmeadow, Massachusetts before retiring to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina in1991.
Kenneth and Ann Marie had two daughters. Ann Marie passed in July 2004. Kenneth is survived by his daughter Mary Katherine Dunn-Wyatt and son-in-law, Thomas of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and daughter Judith Eickhoff Belling and son-in-law, Daniel of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He has three grandchildren, Colby Spencer Dunn of East Hartford, Connecticut, Robert Blakely Mirando of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Katherine Elizabeth Mirando of Mammoth, California. In addition, He has two great grandchildren Barrett Alexander Mirando and Raylee Grace Mirando. Kenneth is also survived by an older sister, Loretta Knight.
Kenneth was an avid tennis player, enjoyed yard work, music, politics, reading, a sweet treat, and his evening cocktail or glass of red wine. He was known for socializing with friends and kept a full calendar.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by The Island Funeral Home on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
