Rosemerie Leyba
October 20th, 1943 - March 27th, 2025
Rosemerie Leyba, 81, of Westminster, Colorado, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025.
Born in Weston, Colorado, the daughter of Reynaldo Barela and Piedad Garcia. She graduated from West High School in 1962. For more than 20 years she worked for Adams County School District 50 as a school bus driver, faithfully serving students with and without special needs. Her nurturing spirit and patient heart left a lasting impact on countless families. Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother.
A woman of deep faith, that embodied the spirit of God in both word and action. She was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and devoted many years to teaching Vacation Bible School. In addition to her service in children's ministry, she dedicated countless years to Bible study, where her faith was continually enriched through scripture and the priceless friendships she formed along the way. Her spiritual journey was marked by humility, love, and generosity.
She supported numerous charitable organizations throughout her life and quietly gave to those in need, always living a life of service and love—never seeking recognition. Her entire life was dedicated to family, faith, and community.
Rosemerie is survived by her loving husband, Thomas R. Leyba; daughters Rochelle (Scott), Latrica (Tony), Tomasita, and Melissa; grandchildren Kayman, Cheyenne, Maya, and Mitchell; and brothers Elmer, Thatcher (Veronica), Ceddio (Bev), and Ray. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Wayne; her sister Jeannette; her sister-in-law Sarah; and her son-in-law Taryle.
Her Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 14, 2025, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 7595 Federal Boulevard, Westminster, CO 80030. The Rosary will begin at 10:30AM, followed by Mass at 11:00AM, and the reception to follow from 12:00–2:00PM. The Interment is at 3:30PM located at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 12801 W. 44th Avenue, Wheat Ride, CO 80033.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Rosemerie’s memory by doing a quiet act of service and/or donating to a charitable organization.
Rosemerie’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
