Ronald "Ron" Smith Hall
July 29th, 1941 - April 2nd, 2025
Ronald Smith Hall, 83, died of heart failure on April 2, 2025, at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado (CO). Ron was born in Nashville, Tennessee (TN) in 1941 and graduated from Madison High School in 1959, and subsequently joined the United States Air Force and attended Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base (AFB), San Antonio, Texas (TX). Upon completion, Ron went to Intelligence Operations technical training at Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, TX, followed by assignments at Osan Air Base (AB), Republic of Korea (ROK); Dyess AFB, Abilene, TX; a combat tour to Udorn Royal Thai AFB, Vietnam; Weisbaden AB, Germany; Fairchild AFB, Spokane, Washington; Johnson AB, Japan; Hickam AFB, Hawaii; Lowry AFB, Denver, CO; Yokota AB, Japan; Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado Springs, CO; and finally Royal Air Force (RAF) Bentwaters, United Kingdom. After 28 years, 10 months of USAF service, he retired as a Chief Master Sergeant (E-9/CMSgt) in 1988 and moved back to CO. Ron successively went to work for Lockheed Martin for 15 years, eventually retiring for good.
Ron loved playing basketball, softball and volleyball. His life’s passion was service to others as he immersed himself into community involvement with his churches (Circle Drive Baptist Church and Vista Grande Baptist Church), the Christian Motorcyclists Association (serving as the Colorado State Coordinator for 20 years) and the Patriot Guard Riders of Colorado (providing funeral honors for deceased Active Duty military and Veterans).
Ron is survived by his wife, Dorlin, whom he married in 1962; his children Sherry and Ron Jr; his grandchildren Beth, Billy, Josh, Victoria and Payton; and great granddaughter Lillian (Lilly); and many loving friends.
