Jane Ellen Chandler
April 18th, 1950 - April 7th, 2025
In Loving Memory
Mrs. Jane Ellen Chandler, 74, of Winston-Salem passed away on April 7, 2025 under the care of Westchester Manor Nursing Home in High Point. Born in Forsyth County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late James Sr. and Mallie (Brannock) Lewellyn and wife of Larry Chandler.
Jane was wide open, strong willed, and loved by most everyone she met. She was a faithful wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a faithful member of the church she adored, Gospel Light Baptist Church. She lived life to the fullest, she was kind and inclusive of everyone. She gave freely of herself to help others any way she could. She was great at surprising you with the little things that make life special. When she set her mind to something, nothing would stop her. She fought for what she believed in.
She was extremely talented, and not many people knew, she was an amazing artist. She loved to fish, loved nature, and wanted to be near any body of water she could find. Jane was a cashier for many years at the Kerner House restaurant where she was loved by many. Before her Alzheimer's set in, she was a sitter for 3 very special ladies. She was a loving, caring person and will be missed by many. When we were no longer able to care for her at home, she even made friends at the assisted living and nursing home. She was a favorite resident of staff receiving "special attention" from her caregivers.
A special thanks to the 300 hall staff at Westchester Manor. You are truly the best of the best. We knew my mom was well cared for on your watch. And a special thanks to the staff at Hospice of the Piedmont for advocating for my mom and giving her a peaceful homegoing.
Jane is survived by her loving husband, Larry Chandler; her daughter, Lisa Seats (Chris); her grandson, Ben Seats; her siblings, Carol Holt, Glenda "Dale" Luck, and James Lewellyn Jr.; her brother in law, David Chandler (Patricia); her lifelong friends, Stella Shepherd; and her long-term mentor, Delores Yokely.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Patty Sue Lewellyn and Nancy Cooke.
The family will receive friends at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service, 213 W. Mountain St., Kernersville NC 27284 on Saturday, April 12th, 2025 from 2:00PM - 3:00PM. Funeral services will follow beginning at 3:00PM with Brother Frank Shumate officiating.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of the Piedmont.
