Steven Andrew Zobel October 5, 1949 – April 9, 2025

Steven Andrew Zobel, 75, of Summerville, SC, passed away peacefully at home on April 9, 2025. He was born on October 5, 1949, in Chicago, IL, and grew up in Augusta, GA. Steve lived a life filled with purpose, generosity, and love.

A proud graduate of The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, Steve built a life grounded in hard work, faith, and family. He was well known in his community as a proud co-owner of The BootJack, a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International, a past President of the Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce, and a dedicated Habitat for Humanity volunteer.

Steve had a deep love for fast cars, classic rock and roll, his church, and above all, his family. His faith was a guiding force throughout his life, and his commitment to serving others left a lasting mark on all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Trudy Zobel, and their daughters: Rebecca Zobel Dunlap (Jeremy), Meredith Zobel Rogers (Michael), and Allison Zobel Brower (Erik). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Lucas and Ethan Dunlap, Jenna Rogers, and Miles Brower. He is also survived by his brother, Raymond A. Zobel Jr. (Karen), and sister, Deborah Zobel Alford.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond A. Zobel Sr. and Winifred Andrews Zobel.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 25th at the Spell Chapel of Bethany United Methodist Church in Summerville, with a reception to follow in the Friendship Circle classroom.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Steve’s memory to Dorchester Habitat for Humanity or The ARK of SC.

Steve lived with a generous spirit, a loyal heart, and a sense of humor that brought joy and laughter to everyone around him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
