Elizabeth Taylor Huff
Elizabeth “Beth” Taylor Huff passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025. She was born on September 21, 1936, in Bartow, Florida to Nelle Alston Taylor and Luther Tillman Taylor. She graduated from Winter Haven High School and Centre College of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree. She is survived by daughter Anne Marie Huff Schag (Hawaii), son Jonathan Taylor Huff (Florida), grandchildren Tristan Schag (Hawaii) and Isabella Schag (Maryland), sister-in-law Nancy Huff, cousins Becky Taylor Stone, Virginia Taylor Benton, and James Taylor (Harriette), nephew Bill Brady (Marni), nieces Deede Taylor, Sherry Brady (Josh) and Rebecca McCabe Hornbuckle (Evan), grandnephews Hunter Taylor (Emily), Mitchell Dylan Adcock (Raegan), and Austin Hornbuckle, grandnieces Kristin Taylor Parra (Jorge), Nola and Katell Brady, and Sydney Hornbuckle. After college, she returned to teach in the Polk County School System. She married Ted Huff and enjoyed over 50 years of marriage. Involved in her community, she was President of The Garden Club, President of The Girl Scout Council of Florida, and Ronald Reagan’s Campaign Manager. She loved to sing and participated in the WHHS Glee Club, First Baptist Church youth choir, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church choir, and Centre acapella choir. She was a residential real estate appraiser at Brakora & Associates and later worked with Treasure Hunters and Wheeler Farms.
