Lynda Lee Schachterle
November 26th, 1945 - April 7th, 2025
Lynda Lee Schachterle, 79, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, in Loveland, Colorado. Born on November 26, 1945, in Denver, Colorado, and adopted at birth by her loving parents Gordon and Glee Dowling, Lynda lived a life marked by dedication to her family, her students, and the joy of discovery through travel.
A proud graduate of Lincoln High School in Denver, class of 1963, Lynda went on to earn her degree from Colorado State University in 1967. She devoted her professional life to education as a high school math teacher, where she inspired countless students with her knowledge and patience.
Lynda was a loving wife to her husband of 58 years, Denny. She is also survived by her son Jim and daughter-in-law Renee, grandchildren Morgan, Jordan, and John Schachterle, and Trevor Scribner, as well as lifelong friend, "sis" Sandy Hoover. Though she faced health challenges in recent years that limited her ability to travel as freely as she once had, Lynda’s adventurous spirit remained strong. She cherished the memories of the places she had visited and the people she met along the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and her beloved son Donald. Her strength through loss and illness was a testament to the deep love she held for those around her.
A funeral service honoring Lynda’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Berthoud United Methodist Church, located at 820 9th St., Berthoud, Colorado 80513.
Lynda will be remembered as a kind-hearted woman who touched many lives—as an educator, a friend to all who knew her, and most importantly as a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother.
Her husband Denny shares this heartfelt message: “I love you dear. Rest in peace in heaven with Jesus. No more pain and oxygen. I will see you again soon. I love you.”
May Lynda’s memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
