Albert Lyle Schmidt, 89, Johnson Creek, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at the Wm. S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI.
Al was born on October 13, 1935 in Montello, WI to Albert Emil and Esther (McIntyre) Schmidt. He graduated from Montello High School. He served his country in the United States Air Force as a military police officer from March 9, 1955 to December 9, 1958. On April 6, 1957 Al married Darlene A. Pischke in Green Lake, WI. He retired from Speed Queen. He enjoyed fishing and camping with family and friends. Al and Darlene loved to polka dance every Saturday night.
He is survived by his daughters Dawn Marcelain of Westfield, Candace (Bob)Sonnenberg of Westfield, and Sherri (Garret) Miller of Johnson Creek; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; his granddog Henry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Darlene, siblings Alice Lischefski, Carroll Schmidt, Duane Schmidt, and Phyllis Pung; son-in-law Roger Marcelain.
Burial will be in the Eastside Cemetery in Westfield, WI at a later date.
