Carol Almeroth December 4, 1937 – April 8, 2025
With hearts full of sorrow and eternal hope we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Carol Almeroth, who peacefully left this world surrounded by loved ones on April 8, 2025.
Carol was born in Oak Park, IL, grew up in the Austin district of Chicago, and lived and raised her family with her husband James in Oak Park and Glenview IL, spending her retirement years in Coon Rapids MN and Tucson AZ. A dedicated follower of Jesus, she lived a life committed to her faith, church ministries, and singing God’s praises.
Carol spent many years providing day care in her home, as well as a long career as an administrative professional for a variety of corporate, educational, and civic organizations.
She found great joy in the Chicago Cubs, cooking, baking, card and table games, travel, and needlework, sharing all with family and friends. Chocolate, cheesecake, and ice cream were some of her favorite treats throughout her life. We will always remember the way she loved to laugh – often being brought to tears – and needing a box of tissues to get through those episodes.
She is survived by her husband James Almeroth; children, Phillip (Kim), Doreen (Mike Bliss), Rich (Julie), Karen (Tim Nelson); siblings Shirley (Don) McNeill, and Dawn (Randy) Wallace; grandchildren Aaron, Evan, Olya, Shawn, Madison, Michael, Crystal, Dawson, Emma, Brian and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Thor and Betty Sivertsen, brother Jerry, and granddaughter Jia.
A Celebration of Life will be held June 14, 2025 in Chicago, with details forthcoming. Family and friends will be invited to share in remembering a life of Christian faith, fully and musically lived.
In lieu of personal gifts or flowers, the family wishes that gifts of remembrance in Carol’s name be made to Tucson Young Lives (https://younglivestucson.younglife.org/) or Gospel Rescue Mission of Tucson ((https://grmtucson.com/donate/).
