Carletta Jane Flanary
October 3rd, 1943 - April 10th, 2025
Carletta Jane Frazier Flanary, 81, of Weber City, Virginia, left this earth and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
Carletta was born in Kingsport, Tennessee, to the late Carson Virgil Frazier and Nell J. “Nellie Jane” McClellan Frazier, on October 3, 1943. She grew up “on the creek” on Big Moccasin Creek on the outskirts of Gate City with her parents and her siblings, Larry, Brenda, and Johnny. Carletta attended Berea College and married Charles Lester Flanary, also from the Gate City area. Charles and Carletta had 3 children, and she was the “glue” in keeping the family together. Running kids to little league ballgames, being very active in school PTA and United Methodist Women, you name it, Carletta did it. In her work career, Carletta worked for several years at the Scott County Health Department, and later at Kilgore Law Offices. In her later years, she became “Grandmom”. She loved her 4 grandchildren very much and was very proud of them. She loved going to their ballgames, picking them up at school, going to Disneyworld with them, and all other things that grandparents cherish.
Carletta loved her church family at Holston View Methodist Church. Throughout her church membership, she taught Sunday school, served on committees, volunteered preparing meals to families that recently lost loved ones, etc. Carletta had many special friends at HVMC, and she was a faithful and devoted disciple of Christ.
In addition to her parents, Carletta was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Flanary; brother, Larry Frazier; sister, Brenda Minton.
Carletta is survived by her sons, Robert (Bob) Flanary and wife Becky, and Ronnie Flanary and wife Pam; daughter, Carla Flanary Clements and husband Charles; 4 grandchildren, Alexis Flanary, Avery Flanary, Zack Clements, and Ben Clements; brother, Dr. John Frazier and wife Patti; sister-in-law, Ann Frazier; brother-in-law, Anson Minton; along with several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
A graveside committal service for Carletta Jane Frazier Flanary will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Holston View Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Griffin officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Minton, Michael Frazier, Chuck Clements, Zack Clements, Ben Clements, and Avery Flanary. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are requested to meet at the cemetery by 12:50pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holston View Methodist Church, 174 Church Street, Weber City VA 24290.
