James A. Sanborn
August 23rd, 1931 - March 29th, 2025
James A. Sanborn of Satellite Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Shirley A. Dupler Sanborn, and six children, Sandra (Daniel) Moore of Morrow, OH, Jean (John) Ross of Galena, OH, Jimmy (Ruthann) Sanborn of Columbus, OH, Lora (Badr) El Mouhajir of Rockledge, FL, Brenda (Chris) Ellebracht of Palm Bay, FL, and Timothy Sanborn of Melbourne, FL, nine Grandchildren, Heather, Samuel, Lori, Michelle, Benjamin, Kenneth, Sara, Justin, and Jeremy, and 12 Great-Grandchildren.
James was born to Addis and Nora (Ritchason) Sanborn in Nelsonville, OH on August 23, 1931. He is preceded in death by brothers Montaville, William, and Nick, and sisters Merry and Kathryn. He is survived by one brother, John Sanborn of Pickerington, OH.
Jim graduated from Carbon Hill High School in 1948. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, honorably discharged in 1952, and took an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. on October 15, 2016. He worked at North American Rockwell in Columbus, OH for 22 years, and at Harris Corporation in Palm Bay, FL for over 35 years, where he was awarded 6 patents. One of his great joys in life was coaching youth baseball and softball, teaching the value of good sportsmanship. He was a passionate supporter of the Cincinnati Reds his entire life and had a love of country music.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. Jim Sanborn “never met a stranger”, and will be greatly missed by his family, numerous friends, co-workers, and neighbors.
