Debbie, a legend. She will be forever inspiring and forever treasured....

Debra Hudson Stroup, born January 4, 1955, in San Jose, California, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, in Gastonia, North Carolina.

 

Debbie was a woman of deep faith, boundless energy, and Christ’s love. She embraced life with joy, had compassion for serving others’ needs, and exuded a vibrant spirit that touched all who knew her. Her connection to Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of her life, guiding her with grace, strength, and a heart full of love for others.

 

She is survived by her devoted husband, Bobby Stroup; her beloved daughter, Amanda Stroup Beatty; her cherished granddaughters, Adler and Ripkin Beatty; and her dear sisters, Diane Hodges, Deidre Bragg Hinkle, and Darlene Davis. Debbie’s love for her family was immeasurable, opening her home, her recipe book, and her heart as part of her ministry to others.

 

Debbie’s legacy is one of warmth, laughter, and steadfast faith. She lived each day to the fullest, always finding joy in the world and spreading God’s love and light wherever she went.

 

A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 15th at 6:00 p.m. at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28203. Visitation to follow. 

 

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Mars Hill University or the Camp Ridgecrest Scholarship Fund, care of Pritchard Church.
