February 3, 1935 - April 8, 2025
Dorothea M. Kronyak died at the age of 90; under the care of Empath Hospice, located in Pinellas Park, Fl. Dorothea was born in Staten Island, NY. She resided in Carlstadt, NJ for many years. She became a Benedictine Nun and worked
as a Catholic school teacher for many years. She continued her education and achieved a Masters Degree as a social worker from Rutgers University. Dorothea spent many years working as a social worker and managing residential homes for special needs children and teenagers after moving to Florida. She later worked in nursing homes which took her to different locations in Florida. After leaving the nursing home employment; she began to work for Hospice Empath of Pinellas County. She truly loved working for hospice and her patients. She retired from hospice after 18 years of service at the age of 79. Dorothea was a very active member of St. Josephs Catholic Church; located in St. Petersburg FL. She volunteered her time at the church early on in the choir, then as a lector. She became a Sacristan Eucharistic Minister; bringing sick and homebound parishioners holy communion several days a week. Dorothea is predeceased by her father John, and her Mother Emily (nee Golz), sister Marie Bottoms, Brothers John, Matthew, Nicholas, Bernard, William and George. She is survived by her brothers Thomas, Martin, Francis, and her sister Emily Schroyer, as well as many nieces and nephews.
