Vivian Ann Flanary Taylor’s Arizona Obituary
November 12, 1937 to April 11, 2025
In Loving Memory of Vivian Ann Flanary TaylorNovember 12, 1937 – April 11, 2025.
On April 11, 2025, the world lost a truly remarkable woman. Vivian Ann Flanary Taylor, born on November 12, 1937, in Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 87. Vivian was a woman of faith, kindness, and humor, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Vivian was the loving wife of the late David H. Taylor, with whom she built a life filled with love and partnership. David preceded her in death in 2013, as did their beloved son, David Sloan Taylor, in 2002. Though life brought its share of heartbreak, Vivian’s unwavering faith and sense of humor gave her strength and inspired others.
Her life’s work was a reflection of her deep care for others. As a chaplain at Casas Church in Oro Valley, Arizona, Vivian touched countless lives, offering comfort, prayer, and a friendly face to those in need. Her ministry was her calling, and her church was her second home.
Vivian was a woman who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading mysteries, solving crossword puzzles, and cheering on her favorite basketball team, the University of Arizona Wildcats. With her sharp wit and infectious laughter, she made everyone around her feel at ease and welcomed.
Vivian is survived by her great-nephews, David Jon Price of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Donald Jeffrey Price of Acworth, Georgia, who will always remember her as a source of love, laughter, and wisdom.
A celebration of Vivian’s life will take place on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Adair Funeral Home – Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Ave., Oro Valley, AZ 85704.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Casas Church, 10801 N. La Cholla Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85742, a place that held a special place in Vivian’s heart. Contributions can also be made online at https://casaschurch.org/.
