She is survived by her daughter in law Diane, 2 grandchildren Jenner her husband Sean and their three children. John, his wife Carrie and their 2 children. They lovingly called her Gigi.
Josephine was born to Emanuele & Mary (Palmieri) Bonomo who were 1st generation immigrants. She was the 3rd of 12 children.
Growing up during the depression she had an appreciation for the little things.
She met her husband to be, Leo Gomolchak in 1946 and were married in 1948. They were married for 58 years when Leo passed away.
Leo and Josephine had one son, Lee, who also preceded her in death.
Josephine and Leo traveled all over Europe while her husband was stationed there in the military.
She was always involved in her church serving the Lord. She worked for Sunrise United Methodist Church on the pastoral staff for a number of years doing many jobs. She would visit most every one who attended. She did house calls as well as hospital visits.
She left Sunrise for another church and was involved in teaching Bible studies. After her return to Sunrise, she again got involved in teaching Bible classes. She loved reading, studying her Bible and spending time with the Lord.
After her move to Monument with her son Lee and daughter Diane she had a new ministry within their new church. She was a greeter and knew everyone’s name. She would interview people and write an insert that was put into the bulletin. Many people said they came back to church because the way they were loved and accepted by Josephine.
She was loved and admired by a great many people and will be dearly missed.
