With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Philip Wheeler, II affectionately known as Rob or Pops, who left us on April 9, 2025 of natural causes in his home in Woodmen Valley Omit Ranch, Colorado Springs, CO. Born on January 29, 1964 in Denver, CO to Bob and Kathy Wheeler. Rob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who brought joy and laughter to everyone he encountered.
Rob dedicated his life to his family, finding immense happiness in their achievements and adventures. He and his wife Vicki shared a passion of skiing, they relished the beauty of nature and the thrill of sportsmanship. His love for woodworking was a testament to his creativity and patience, resulting in many cherished pieces that will forever hold his spirit.
An avid sports fan, Rob’s loyalty to the Buffs, Broncos, Rockies, Nuggets, Avalanche, and Western State football was unwavering. He shared this enthusiasm with his family, creating many joyous memories his entire life. He was very proud to have been a Cherry Creek Golf State Champion and college golfer for CU.
Among his many accomplishments, Rob’s greatest pride and joy were his sons, Timothy Philip and Samuel Thomas Wheeler, and his beloved grandchildren. His legacy lives on through them as they continue to embody the values and love he instilled in them.
Rob is survived by his wife of 24 years, Vicki Wheeler, his sons Timothy (Sally) and Samuel (Coleen) Wheeler. Grandchildren Wilhelmina, Philip, Jonesy, and Parker Wheeler. His mother, Kathy Wheeler, brother Chris (Mandy) Wheeler, Sister Kelly Switzer, and many nieces and nephews.
Rob’s departure leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts, but his spirit of laughter, generosity, wit, creativity and love will forever remain with us. His memory will be cherished eternally. May his soul find peace and comfort in the embrace of eternity.
His family will have a private ceremony, but a Celebration of Life will be held in the summer for all family and friends.
