LuAnne Kay Frolick (Anderson), 85, quickly and unexpectedly passed away at her home in Cove Cay Golf Club in Clearwater, FL on Thursday, March 27, 2025. She was born in Madison, WI on September 11, 1939, to the late Irvin and Minnie (Knudtson) Anderson, the oldest of four girls.

LuAnne grew up in Windsor, WI and graduated from DeForest High School in 1957. She remained close with her classmates over the years, making sure she returned to Wisconsin once a year not only to celebrate her birthday with her daughter Tami, and son-in-law Michael, but to gather with her class, reminisce and catch up on what happened to them, both physically and mentally during the past year. Friendships for that duration are rare, and she loved and appreciated each one of them.

During high school, she loved one classmate so deeply that she married him. Reuben Reddeman, the star of the football team, gave her two wonderful children, which she considered the best gifts of her lifetime. While they divorced when the kids were young, they remained friends until his passing in 2019.

After high school, Luanne worked for a computer data processing company using punch cards with enormous computers. In her lifetime, she saw the entire evolution of technology, and embraced it, or tried her best! The staff at the Largo Verizon store will surely miss her weekly visits.

In the early 1970’s she learned how to shoot a bow at the Archery Center in Madison, WI. After mastering the compound bow, she tried her hand at hunting. She met Ken and Helen Hoege and their family while hunting on their farm. She remarkably shot a bear and impressed all the men in her group. She has remained friends with the Hoeges over the years and enjoyed visiting them each time she returned to Wisconsin.

In the mid 1970’s she went to work for Rayovac, where she met and remained friends with a special group of women. As a single mom, and to increase her income, she obtained her real estate license and did very well as she was a natural in sales.

In the early 1980’s she had the opportunity to move to Torino and Milano, Italy for three years, immersing herself in the culture and making more lifetime friends. In the mid 1980’s she moved back to the states, specifically Florida, as she had seen enough snow and felt enough wintry weather in Wisconsin to satisfy her for the rest of her life.

While searching for her forever home in Florida, she obtained her securities licenses and started her career in the financial industry. She worked with long-time friend Donna Peters at Coordinated Capital Securities for two years before securing her place with Lawson Financial for the next 23 years. At Lawson Financial, she met Rutland Bussey who became her “Florida son,” and he has been in her life ever since. Rutland and Bryan welcomed her into their family as an honorary grandmother to their children, Bartlett and Baylor. She cherished the relationship with his family and spoiled and loved their kids.

While at Lawson Financial, she started a women’s investment club where she met even more lifetime friends, including a very special friend, Tina Baldwin. Tina became her “Florida daughter” as well as her travel partner, nurse, and confidant that helped her with everything. She greatly cherished their relationship.

She moved around Florida for a couple of years, and in 1998, she finally chose her paradise at Cove Cay Golf Club in Clearwater, where she thrived for the past 27 years. After settling in, she quickly became the fashionable face of Cove Cay as the president of Village 1, maintaining order and keeping the grounds decorated for the holidays. She joined the Elks and sang karaoke every Thursday night. Patsy Kline’s “Crazy” was her go-to song of choice. She also belonged to several different churches and choirs over the years, ending up at St. Paul United Methodist Church, where she met her dear friend, Shirley Hamrich. Singing and music in general brought her so much joy, including traveling for choir, singing solos for various church services or to the beach for the Suncoast Jazz festival. She loved the spotlight and a great entrance: she was the crowd favorite among the models for the Hospice fashion show each year. She enjoyed every activity Cove Cay had to offer (other than golf in her later years) and never said no to an invitation to go anywhere. She made friends everywhere she went, so thank you to all of you who shared your story with LuAnne and for enjoying hers.

Her other joys were her family and traveling. She went to several states to visit, especially for holidays, and vacationed with them whenever she could. With her son Todd, daughter-in-law Pam and granddaughter Brianna, she has been to Bermuda, Italy, Aruba, Pennsylvania, Arizona, New Orleans, and on a fun Caribbean cruise. Many of those trips also included her daughter Tami and son-in-law Mike, including numerous trips to Georgia.

She retired in 2015 from Lawson Financial, and became even busier with bridge games, bingo, nail, hair and doctor appointments, lunches with her friends, dinners with the girls, and always a lobster roll on Wednesdays. Sitting still and growing old were not part of LuAnne’s life plan. She lived her life her way, right up to the end, and not needing to be dependent on anyone was an important goal. We want to thank her entire Cove Cay family, especially Bill Johnson and Mary Moore, and the staff at the country club for being there for her in her times of need, whether it was restarting her computer, watering her orchids, serving her a glass of champagne, or borrowing her an egg. Later, her friends Dorothy and Sue helped her maintain her home, as well as helping with tasks that became too challenging for her on her own. All of you, through your generosity and kindness, enabled her to stay in her home in Florida until her passing, and she and her family are forever grateful.

LuAnne was a beautiful and amazing woman, loved by many and she will be greatly missed. She lived her life to the fullest and definitely left her mark. She loved her home with a beautiful view of Tampa Bay, and we are positive she now has the perfect view from the heavens above as she did God proud in her 85 years.

She is survived by her sister Diane (Bob) Hein, Spring Hill, FL; her beloved children, Todd (Pam) Reddeman, Alpharetta, GA and Tami (Mike) Strang, Prairie du Sac, WI; her one and only granddaughter, Brianna (Arvind) Jain (with LuAnne's first great-grandchild on the way), New Orleans, LA; and her nephews, Patrick (Lori) Freeland, Murphy, TX, and Paul (Heidi) Freeland, Madison, WI. She is further survived by several cousins, great nieces, and nephews, and so many friends that were all dear to her heart.

In addition to her parents, several aunts, and uncles and many of her close friends, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Marilyn, and most recently Darlene.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at St.Paul United Methodist Church in Largo, FL. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The service will be available via live stream for those unable to attend.

In lieu of flowers, which she loved so very much, please make donations in her name to the St Paul Handicapable Ministry or the Suncoast Hospice Foundation
