Michael Wine

Mike Wine passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025 in Lakewood, Colorado. He was surrounded by his family. 

Born on December 22, 1955, in Greeley, Colorado. He will be deeply missed by his son, Tyler Wine, sister and brother-in-law, Terry Rowe and Gary Rowe, brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Shawn Wine, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. 

Mike was an overachiever at Arvada High School. He lettered in six sports and was the president of three student organizations. He received a bowling scholarship at the University of Northern Colorado where he received his journalism degree. 

After working at several newspapers as well as being an assistant press secretary to Governor Lamm, Mike pursued his passion in the golf industry and has been a member of the Professional Golfers’ Association for over 27 years. Here are a few of his career highlights: He has taught lessons at 37 golf courses, was a guest instructor in Japan, had a golf academy with three locations, wrote articles for several golf magazines, appeared on Arnold Palmer’s TV show, made a golf instruction video and appeared on the Golf Channel with the famous Amy Grant incident! 

His legacy in golf is surpassed only by his ability to put a smile on anyone he met, his wit and sense of humor. 

Mike will be buried with his parents, Ron and Mary Wine, at the Central City Catholic Cemetery.
