LaVonne "Bonnie" Margaret Urban

LaVonne Margaret Urban, lovingly known as Bonnie, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025, at the age of 85 in Glendora, California.
Born on December 7, 1939, in St. Peter, Minnesota, Bonnie was the beloved daughter of Victor and Ruby Schmit. She spent her childhood and early adulthood in Minnesota before marrying the love of her life, Joseph Urban, in 1967. Together, they built a beautiful life in California. A woman of deep faith, Bonnie was a devoted member of St. Dorothy Catholic Church, where she found great joy in serving others as an active member of the parish’s Society of St. Vincent de Paul ministry.
Bonnie will be most remembered for her boundless love, generosity and selflessness, always putting the needs of others before her own. She had an extraordinary gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and cherished. Whether hosting family gatherings or offering a listening ear, her warm and nurturing spirit left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. She gave with her whole heart, expecting nothing in return. Her love was unconditional, and she shared it freely with her family, friends, and all who crossed her path.
She is survived by her children, Michael and Kimberly, and her five grandchildren, Abby, Campbell, Emma, Carson, and Josh. She is also survived by her brothers, Dave and Mark. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 42 years, Joe; and her siblings Joanne, Carol, and Denny.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Bonnie on Monday, May 12 , 2025, at 10:30 am, at St. Dorothy Catholic Church located at 241 S. Valley Center Ave., Glendora CA 91741, with Fr. Ron Clark presiding.
Memorial donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Dorothy Catholic Church Conference, to continue Bonnie’s legacy of helping others.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered prayers, love, and support during Bonnie’s final days. Your kindness has been a source of great comfort.
